A New Hero

Written by lapinay on Sunday, May 06, 2007 at Sunday, May 06, 2007

Well, I did not keep to my previous deadline at all, but here we are, 2 weeks later, and I have finally finished Hero's new face-up!

I must say, I'm quite proud of myself. This is my first natural-looking face-up and considering all the troubles I encountered and all the problem-solving I had to do on my own with this project, I'm quite pleased with how she turned out. Sure, there are things that I would still like to fix, but as for now, I think she pretty much looks how I envisioned her to be.

She came to me in not so great shape. Although I loved her eyebrows, the rest of her original face-up simply would not do for me. It was too pink and purple and metallic, and neon, and over-the-top for my taste.

(This picture is actually more flattering than how she really looked when she first arrived. The neon pink blush went from all over her cheeks to inside her nostrils and even to the tips of her ears. *_*)

At the moment, I still need to attach her new brown lashes and I'm waiting for her 20mm eyes to come in the mail but she looks happier, prettier (at least to me), and on the whole more presentable right now.

Hero is currently wearing 16mm (way too small for her) Hazel Acrylic eyes from Dollmore and a brown wig which originally came from an Assa Pullip that I dreadlocked and braided.

Comments, critiques and over-all suggestions for improvement are very, very welcome and will be much appreciated.

Hi there! I don't know much about dolls or how they're made but you've made some wonderful things here, I quite enjoyed the photos. =)

My name is Trinette, and I'm currently part of Seneca's Event Management program. Our project this year is to do the event planning and decor for Bloor Street Entertains. I was surfing the net for photos of last year's event and I came across your lapinay.multiply.com website, where you've hosted pictures of BSE.

I've ventured to contact you in the hopes that you could give me higher quality photos of the event, and maybe even some inside information on what it was like setting up that evening? I'm interested to hear how it went, if you liked it, and what suggestions or advice you could give us for this year.

If you'd like, email me at trinette.klein@hotmail.com ... I'd be very appreciative =) Thanks!
